PVDF Tank Temperature at 300°F (148.9°C)
PVDF is selected for some elevated-temperature chemical applications, and BEI PVDF product information references service up to 300°F (148.9°C) for many applications. At 300°F (148.9°C), the exact tank, resin grade, fluid, and operating duty still need review.
What 300°F (148.9°C) means for PVDF
At 300°F, PVDF is near 150°C. Some PVDF references qualify this temperature for non-load-bearing use; a storage tank must have separate structural and chemical approval. Higher temperatures can change the strength and long-term behavior of thermoplastics. The tank’s 1.9 specific-gravity rating should not be assumed at elevated temperature unless it is confirmed for that model.
What to confirm before specifying a tank
Send BEI the chemical and concentration, continuous and peak liquid temperature, required capacity and fill level, specific gravity, operating cycles, fittings and piping loads, and installation conditions. Chemical compatibility must be checked at the actual temperature. A short-lived temperature excursion and continuous storage at the same temperature are different design cases.
At this point, the temperature is close to 150°C (302°F). Syensqo describes Solef® PVDF up to 150°C for non-load-bearing applications; that resin-level statement does not certify a load-bearing storage tank. See the manufacturer FAQ.
Use this page as a screening guide, not a final compatibility or engineering approval. Review BEI PVDF tanks or request an application review.
